What Is The BNVD 1431 MK2 Omni7?
The BNVD-1431-Omni7 is a binocular night vision device (BNVD) that consists of an American 3rd Generation Omni 7 Image Intensifier Tube, American Mil-Spec Optics by Carson, and a housing made by the Argus Company then optimized here in the USA.
The American Image Intensifiers are 3rd Generation from the Omni 7 contract, which was the greatest green tube contract ever let before the US Military largely switched over to black-and-white night vision. The Omni 7 specs were so high that it negatively impacted the ability of tube manufacturers to deliver their contracts. Fun fact - Omni 8 tubes are NOT AS GOOD as Omni 7. This means you get a tube with all the latest characteristics, including a gated power supply, and with most if not all of the performance of white phosphor tubes, and by going with a green phosphor tube you get to keep a lot of money.
The mil-spec Carson Optics are standard military use and Made in USA. They are the standard by which everyone judges systems.
